Facilitator notes for YXE RECOVERY meetings

Your role as a facilitator
As a facilitator, your primary role is to hold space for sharing. This means listening more than speaking, normalizing the struggles many face in recovery, and celebrating the courage it takes for people to show up. Watch for signs of crisis and remember to keep the focus on authentic connection and practical support.
Guiding our meetings with empathy and understanding. These notes are designed to help facilitators create a supportive and safe space for everyone in our recovery community.

What truly matters in our meetings
The core of our gatherings is built on authenticity, connection, and non-judgment. We strive to create an environment where everyone feels safe to share their experiences without fear of criticism. Providing practical support and fostering a sense of belonging are key to our shared journey.

Recognizing and addressing red flags
It is crucial to be aware of red flags, such as someone talking about harming themselves, exhibiting signs of acute crisis, or being in active use. Always have crisis resources readily available and know when to gently guide individuals toward professional help. The safety and well-being of our members are paramount.
Our shared goal
Ultimately, we want every person to leave our YXE RECOVERY meetings feeling less alone, more hopeful, and deeply connected to our supportive community. Your dedication as a facilitator helps make this possible. Together, we build a stronger path to recovery.
